EverydayLog, last updated 20 October 2026

EverydayLog is a personal Android app. Its developer runs no server and receives no data from it: no account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.

What the app stores

The expenses, notes, tags, wallets and attached files you enter are stored in the app's private storage on your phone.

Google Drive

If you connect Google Drive, the app keeps a copy of that data in an "EverydayLog" folder of your own Drive, so it survives a new phone and can be restored from a daily backup. It uses the drive.file permission, which lets it see and change only the files it created itself; the rest of your Drive stays invisible to it. The copy goes straight from your phone to Google; nobody else receives it.

EverydayLog's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Notifications

If you give it notification access, the app reads the notifications showing on the phone only while you write a new expense, to offer the euro amounts it finds in them. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

Text inside attachments

The app reads the text of photos and PDFs you attach to make it searchable. This happens on the phone, without sending the files anywhere; the text found is saved with your data, Drive copy included.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the app removes the data on the phone. The Drive copy is the "EverydayLog" folder in your Drive, which you can delete at any time. You can withdraw the app's access to Drive from your Google account's connections page.
